PRIMARY MISSION:
The primary mission of the African Americans On Maui Association (AAOMA) is to enlighten and inform the community and the people of the State of Hawai`i, nation and the world about the history, culture, contributions and experiences of people of African descent in the United States and Hawaii. The AAOMA education mission is to foster and teach all persons about the history, arts and culture, including all ethnicities in the state of Hawaii.
To achieve this goal, the AAOMA promotes the high quality research, culture exhibits, arts, scholarships, and teaching of the African American experience and sponsors wide variety of programs on topics and issues that are critical to Black America and pertinent to a better understanding of the Black world.
The AAOMA includes and counts all races and ethnicities. AAOMA does not exclude any person from being a member or learning about the heritage. AAOMA shall remain all inclusive, never exclusive. Each individual shall have the right to learn, participate, and share in the rich legacy, history, culture and the arts of African Americans.
The AAOMA embodies the talents and strengths of African Americans focusing on education, mentoring, and networking. The AAOMA is a result of African American recognition of the importance and contributions of African Americans in every aspect of life and is dedicated to the advancement of African Americans.
AAOMA VISION STATEMENT:
The African Americans On Maui Association (AAOMA) vision is to be the outstanding regional resource for authentic African American historical information. (I.E. Dr. MLK Jr., Black History Month, Juneteenth, and Kwanzaa Programs)

Dr. MLK Jr., Black History Month, Juneteenth, and Kwanzaa Programs) The AAOM A is to educate, promote understanding and appreciation of the African Diaspora through education, exhibitions, community events and programming. The AAOMA education mission is to foster and teach all persons about the history, arts and culture, and to include all races, and ethnicities in the state of Hawai`i (I.E. DR. MLK Jr. Holiday, Black History Month, Juneteenth, Kwanzaa Programs)
