Opening Ceremonies at the “Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Stone of Hope Monument” commemorating the Stone of Hope Monument in our Nation’s Capitol in Washington, D.C. 200 High Street, Wailuku @ 8:30am

The Proclamation by the County of Maui, Mayor Alan Arakawa proclaiming the celebration to honor the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. will be signed and executed at The Stone Of Hope Monument on January 21, 2013 @ 8:45am

The “Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. March” in commemoration of the “March on Washington,” will commence @9:00am from the Stone of Hope Monument to the Wailuku Coffee Company at 26 N. Market Street for a “Dr. King Tribute and Celebration” @ 9:30am-11:30am

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Festivities and Tributes continue with entertainment at Queen Ka`ahumanu Center (center stage) 1:00pm-3:00pm

Kwanzaa Celebration

A Kwanzaa celebration will be held by the African Americans on Maui (AAOM), a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization, at ‘Īao Parkside Recreation Center in Wailuku (across from the Wailuku Community Center) on Friday, Dec. 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. Sponsored by the County of Maui.
